High-Speed Internet in Martuni

Yesterday I had a high-speed Internet connection installed at my home. It's been a long awaited service that is well overdue.

The standard Internet service which in itself was a necessity was not reliable nor did the speed allow the subscriber to download large files in a reasonable amount of time or could one take advantage of Internet Telephone service.

With this new connection that is costing me only twice as much as the old service did each month, I can now use an Internet Phone to call anywhere in the U.S. for free. I can also receive calls from people and the cost of the call is as much as it would be for the caller to call Los Angeles. For international calls I can use Skype.

One other thing about the service is that as of now I have an upload speed of 96kbs and download of the same. I can upgrade at anytime to as much as 512kbs upload/download if there is a need for more speed.

In terms of what is going on here in Martuni, I can't say that there is anything new that is worth writing about. It's the same old thing, just people are getting older and doing what they have to in order to survive, which is not always that pleasent a subject to write about.
